Tom Doyle served on our Epicenter Conference team as moderator of a panel on “How To Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem.”
Tom’s passion for the people of the Middle East began when he accepted an invitation to attend a biblical tour of the Holy Land. “The Bible came alive, and my understanding of Scripture was transformed,” he recalls. “I not only fell in love with Jesus again while in Israel, but I fell in love with the people there. Both Jews and Arabs found a place in my heart. And I was thrilled to discover a vibrant, growing church in the Middle East.”
In 1995, Tom began leading tours in Israel, eventually becoming an official tour guide for the State of Israel. Little did he know that God was about to take his love for the Middle East to a whole new level. “As a pastor, I admired those who served God in foreign lands; but I was glad that God hadn’t called me to do that,” he recalls. In June 2001, after 20 years of pastoring congregations in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico, Tom and his wife sensed God clearly calling them to full-time ministry in the Middle East.
